Bodega CARO – Caro Blend:  The Harmony of Two Worlds

Discover Bodega CARO, a prestigious collaboration between Catena Zapata and Baron Eric de Rothschild, two legendary names that embody the excellence of Argentine and French winemaking. The CARO Blend, composed of 64% Malbec and 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a masterful expression that unites the depth and intensity of Mendoza’s terroir with the finesse and structure of Bordeaux tradition.

Each grape is hand-harvested from selected parcels in the Uco Valley, where the stony soils, layered with limestone and calcareous deposits, bear witness to the bed of an ancient river. Crafted with the precision of Bordeaux’s Grands Crus, fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a natural malolactic fermentation.

The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels handcrafted at the Domaines’ cooperage in Pauillac, with 80% of them being first-use, where it ages for 18 months to achieve its signature complexity and refinement.

The result is a deep ruby-red wine that opens with complex aromas of ripe red fruits, figs, and blackcurrants, elegantly intertwined with subtle notes of cedar, tobacco, and spice. On the palate, it displays silky tannins, refined concentration, and layers of blueberries, blackberries, and cocoa, leading to a long, harmonious, and persistent finish.

This is a wine of remarkable elegance and longevity, with an aging potential of up to 15 years. Perfectly suited for roasted lamb, duck breast in red wine reduction, filet mignon with truffle sauce, or aged cheeses.

A truly premium Argentine wine, CARO represents the perfect harmony between French sophistication and Argentine soul — a timeless expression of craftsmanship, balance, and heritage.
